The free utility to install Windows 11 on a non -compatible PC

Well known to hackers to install Windows 11 on PCs deemed obsolete by Microsoft, Flyby11 changes its name to become a flyoobe. Above all, this practical tool is evolving to take control of the system from the first start.

At a time when Windows 10 is preparing to retire forced – its expiration date is set at October 2025 – hundreds of millions of perfectly functional PCs are found in a dead end. Even if Microsoft offers a small extension of fairly limited support (see our article), everything is done to encourage their users to abandon them to buy a new computer. The fault of very strict material requirements imposed by Windows 11, in particular the presence of a TPM 2.0 chip and a fairly recent processor.

Of course, these restrictions have made many dissatisfied. And as always in this kind of situation, several solutions have appeared in recent years to get around these obstacles and force the installation of Windows 11 on officially non -compatible PCs. Two tools have particularly distinguished themselves in this form of diversion: Rufus, the famous software that allows you to create “bootable”, simple and efficient USB keys; And Flyby11, a little more ambitious.

The latter changes its name and vocation today. He becomes a flyoobe, a nod to theOut-Of-Box Experiencethe Anglo-Saxon expression often abbreviated as an oobe which designates what the user discovers at the very first start of the system, during its configuration. But instead of undergoing this sequence imposed by Microsoft, Flyoobe proposes to take it in hand.

Flyoobe: a completely personalized configuration

Available free of charge on GitHub, Flyoobe is not content to force the installation of Windows 11 on unrealized equipment. He accompanies the user in all post-installation stages, eliminating the elements deemed unnecessary and by restoring a little freedom where Microsoft locks. The tool deletes preinstalled software, deactivates insistent Microsoft account creation proposals and simplifies the initial configuration.

The 0.35 version goes even further: dissociable visual theme for Windows and its applications, integration into a professional field from the start, Windows Update page reworked, clearer navigation. It is no longer a bypass, but an advanced personalization. The objective is to offer a fluid and tailor -made installation, which respects the user more than the Redmond marketing plans which, as soon as the Windows 11 configuration, encourages permanent monitoring and to subscribe to paid services like Microsoft 365.

The name change is not anecdotal. Where Flyby11 suggested a simple maneuver to cross the restriction barrier, Flyoobe assumes a wider mission: to restore control over what is happening right after. A way, for its creators, to say that it is no longer just a question of entering Windows 11, but of modeling its use from the first minutes. Unlike Rufus, more suitable for serial installations or quick repairs, Flyoobe is more aimed at those who want to take the time to install a clean system on their personal machine, without undergoing automatisms dictated by Microsoft. This positioning explains the care taken at the interface and the available options: the settings are visible, clear, immediately effective.

Behind Flyoobe, there is a community of developers that closely follows Windows 11 developments, including the methods used by Microsoft to strengthen controls. With the 24H2 version, expected in the coming months, the company has introduced new constraints, such as the obligation to support the popcnt instruction, still absent from certain former processors. This type of lock does not go unnoticed in the community, which sees it as a voluntary strategy to accelerate the renewal of the park.

Flyoobe: a temporary solution without warranty

Flyoobe presents himself as a form of technical, almost political response, faced with this logic of planned obsolescence. But the developers remain cautious: no promise of stability is made. Installing Windows 11 on an unknate machine is taking the risk of meeting incompatibilities or missing certain critical updates. A complete backup is essential before any attempt.

Flyoobe is therefore not a magic solution, but an alternative path. It is intended for those who refuse to throw a PC still perfectly functional, simply because it does not meet the criteria defined by Microsoft. It allows you to postpone the deadline, but does not replace a long -term strategy. Ultimately, even with the best fixes, the equipment will eventually not follow. In the meantime, Flyoobe offers a useful, intelligent, and accessible respite. An excellent bulwark against planned obsolescence.
