The Galaxy S26 Ultra promises to be close to its predecessors, but a detail could change everything. Samsung would prepare a significant improvement on the photo part. And that could finally correct a defect that has been dragged for several generations.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is still recent, but the first leaks around its successor, the ultra Galaxy S26, are already increasing. As often with Samsung, technical rumors appear long before the official announcement. Some mentioned a new main sensor, others a larger or signed sensor. Finally, the last elements go in a more cautious direction, but without neglecting the improvements.
According to the Leaker Ice Universe, often well informed on Samsung, the Galaxy S26 Ultra would keep the main ISOCELL HP2 sensor of 200 MP, already used from the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The real novelty would come from the opening of the objective, which would be extended. This would allow the device to capture more light, especially in dark environments, while reducing noise and vague movement. This modification would especially aim to correct a well -known defect of ultra models: the shutter lagthis discrepancy between the moment when you press and the real capture of the photo.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra will take better photos in darkness thanks to a wider opening
With this wider opening, the ultra galaxy S26 should capture more light, especially in low light conditions. This would reduce the blurring on the photos of moving subjects, using faster shutter speeds. The expected result: sharper images, without the need for software correction. This evolution could also improve portraits, thanks to a more natural field depth and a blurred background without artificial effect.
However, an overly wide opening associated with a large sensor can cause other problems, such as blurred photos in close -up. This phenomenon has already been observed on other models such as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra or the Vivo X90 Pro. It will therefore be necessary to see if Samsung succeeds in avoiding this trap. The Ultra S26 could also benefit from a wider opening on its 5X telephoto lens telephoto, which would also improve low light performance. Official announcements were expected in early 2026.
BREAKING!
Galaxy S26 Ultra :HP2+ large aperture !
will greatly increase the light input, improve the dim light quality, and improve all existing problems. The actual effect it brings will be the most obvious upgrade since Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.— PhoneArt (@UniverseIce) July 25, 2025
