The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada believes that contradictory speeches fuel war in Gaza

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, affirms that peace between Israel and the Palestinians requires a change in the way in which we speak of identity and legitimacy, and not only a political agreement.

Mme Anand is present at the United Nations headquarters in New York, for a major conference organized by France and Saudi Arabia in order to find ways to preserve a two -state solution. She is expected to express himself more on Monday afternoon on Monday afternoon.

In her opening speech, Minister Anand said that the conflict is fueled by contradictory speeches through which Israeli and Palestinians perceive war, and that peace requires a common reality.

This meeting occurs while international experts warn against famine in Gaza, where Israel has slightly relaxed its restrictions on humanitarian aid to desperate Palestinians.

It also intervenes a few days after France announced that it would be the first G7 country to recognize a Palestinian state, despite the strong opposition of Israel.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said Ottawa would collaborate with his peers to recognize a future Palestinian state, adding that Hamas cannot play any role in its governance.
