The pétanque club in the final of the French championship, a historic performance for the Landes Committee

During the French pétanque championship which took place on June 20 and 21 in Pontorson, a stone’s throw from Mont Saint-Michel, the Landes Committee and the Saubion club lived a historic moment.

Indeed, and for the first time in its history, a Landes team representing the CD 40 managed to climb in the final of the male triplet championship of the French Pétanque and Provençal game federation. A feat that deserves to be greeted.

Joselito Brun, Noël Doerr and Elie Benmergui fought valiantly against the formidable Var team with Henri Lacroix, David Doerr and Laurent Matraglia. If they are tilted on the score of 5 to 13, they have delivered a service full of commitment and talent. The Landais did not deserve this remarkable and unprecedented journey.

“It’s a historic moment for our committee and a real spotlight for Landes pétanque. We are extremely proud of our players, ”says Daniel Dampierre, the president of the Landes Committee. Who concludes: “This performance rewards years of local investment in the discipline and highlights the increasingly high level of play in the Landes. »»
