A large tablet with a well -calibrated screen

This Honor Magicpad 2 may be a large tablet, it is first appreciated for its contained weight (555 g) and its finesse (5.8 mm thick). So we have a rather pleasant model in hand. Be careful all the same at the very (too?) Fine borders, which can cause accidental support on the slab, especially since the slices are very flat here. A more domed design on the edges could have avoided these kinds of little worries. On the back, a fairly imposing, but misleading photo is nestled, but deceptive, since it contains only one 13 Mpx camera. But it is sufficient to scan documents or take pictures on the spot.

At the front, there is a large 12.3 -inch OLED slab, which thus promises deep blacks and infinite contrasts on a large display area. Nice for the breaks movies and series. The maximum brightness is announced at 1,600 nits, but in fact, it does not exceed 1,300 nits in HDR. For reading in direct sunlight, it is not ideal. We console ourselves with the rendering of faithful colors, but also, and above all with the refresh rate of 144 Hz, which promises very fluid animations and games of game without motion.

Sufficient performance for multitasking

This Magicpad 2 is animated by a Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chip, which allows you to perform office automation tasks and even do multitasking without problem. Some slowdowns can however occur with heavier software, such as those allowing video editing. And on gourmet games, beware of FPS falls. But overall, this tablet should suit workers and students. The latter can also be more productive thanks to artificial intelligence integrated into Magicos.

Among the practical features, we note in particular Magic Portal, which detects our intentions when we work on a document: if we highlight a passage, the tablet offers to send it by email, for example. The notes application can, for its part, beautify a handwriting. Finally, on the autonomy side, a battery of 10,050 mAh allows the tablet to last two days, but everything will depend on your uses, of course. With the 66 W charger supplied, we go from 0 to 100 % in almost two hours. Yes, it’s quite long …
