The ‘Queen of Ketamine’, responsible for the death of Matthew Perry, will plead guilty

In certain Hollywood circles, it was called the “Ketamine queen”. Behind this nickname, Jasveen Sangha, a drug tycoon that has made his oil ketamine. She is suspected of having sold the dose responsible for the death of the late Matthew Perry, the interpreter of Chandler Bing in Friends.

While she is currently in pre-trial detention, the 42-year-old American-British has just changed defense strategy. She plans to plead guilty “In the coming weeks”. Prosecuted for several charges, including that of distribution of ketamine which led to death, it risks up to 65 years in prison in the event of recognition of guilt. Ketamine, originally a veterinary anesthetic, is sometimes used for therapeutic purposes, but remains above all diverted for recreational use.

Her lawyer, Me Mark Geragos, said she was assuming “The responsibility of his actions”. This decision should avoid a trial before jury and lead the prosecution to abandon some of the charges retained by the prosecutors.

Jasveen Sangha is the fifth person implicated in the case of Matthew Perry’s death by overdose. Her fêtard jet-teette profile, exhibiting her sumptuous life, her trips and flashy jewelry on social networks, has been playing against the start of the investigation. She boasted of being able “Honor any order” thanks to his contacts with a “Chef” and a “scientist”.

After the death of the star of Friendsshe would have tried to protect herself by ordering her intermediary: “erase all our messages”. Already in 2019, another of its customers had died following an overdose of ketamine.

During a search at his home, the investigators discovered nearly 80 bottles of ketamine, as well as methamphetamine, cocaine, Xanax bottles and other drugs obtained illegally. In addition to the fatal bottle, she would have provided Perry dozens of other doses, samples and ketamine lollipops.

His trial is set for October 15. Until then, she will remain in detention in order to prevent any risk of escape.

Two unscrupulous doctors, Dr. Mark Chavez and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, had already been accused before her of having exploited the actor’s ketamine and judged in part responsible for his death, in particular for having provided him with illegally drugs. They both pleaded guilty: Chavez faces up to 10 years in prison, while Plasencia risks up to 40 years old.
