The Republic and canton of the Jura adopts its new digital strategy

The Jura government has adopted its new digital strategy. In an intense period of technological development, this strategy must make it possible to accelerate the digital transformation of the State while taking into account the expectations and realities of citizens and institutional partners of the canton. With this new strategy, the canton of the Jura confirms its desire to remain innovative in a changing area.

The digital strategy of the Republic and canton of the Jura (SNJU) is part of a clear will: to make digital a lever for transformation of public action. It goes beyond infrastructure and technical tools. It aims to an administration which rethinks its operation, adapts its working methods, and opens up to a culture of innovation and transversal collaboration. Its basic postulate is that the digital developments that we live greatly exceed technique and tools but also influence all administrative processes, human resources and society in general creating opportunities and risks at all levels.

A structured strategy around three main axes

• A more modern and more responsible administration
  The first axis of the strategy aims to strengthen the digital capacities of the state. This means developing modular, scalable and secure information systems, adapt the legal framework to promote online procedures, support employees in the acquisition of digital skills, and reduce the environmental impact of technologies used. The objective is to build a more agile, more effective, more environmentally friendly administration.
• Digital services thought for citizens and businesses
  The second axis puts the user in the center. It is a question of rethinking the procedures and simplifying them, offering online services accessible to all thanks to a single virtual window, to better value the data to improve services, while ensuring rigorous protection of privacy. This axis also strengthens transparency to establish a relationship of trust between the administration and the population.
• Reinforced collaboration at all levels
  The third axis encourages close cooperation between the canton, the municipalities, the Confederation and the local partners. This involves pooling resources, developing sovereign digital solutions and encouraging innovation in Jura. The ambition is to build a coherent, solid and sustainable digital ecosystem together.

A common base for modern administration
Digital strategy is one of the five structuring strategies to modernize the Jura state. Its ambition is to embrace all the dimensions – technological, organizational, legal and human – of digital transformation and will serve as a frame of reference to all the digital initiatives to come. It will be declined in a concrete and evolving action plan, under an annual management of the government, in order to guarantee its coherent implementation throughout the territory.
