On August 9, a hacker managed to break into the security system installed in the couple’s house in Rome. An intimate video, captured by a camera placed in the bedroom, was stolen. A few days later, the images circulated on networks like Telegram and a website known to publish stolen videos.
The name of Stefano de Martino appeared clearly, proof that the attack directly aimed at the host. A legal inquiry has been opened for “illegal intrusion into a computer system” and “dissemination of explicit images”, as part of a wider piracy of personal data.
According to the couple’s lawyers, the cameras had been placed in the room due to several flights that occurred in the house, suspected of having been committed by home staff.
Stefano de Martino and Caroline Tronelli filed a complaint immediately after the discovery of the leak. Their lawyer Angelo Pisani says: “Stefano de Martino is deeply injured and saddened by the theft of these images. We also demand the condemnation of all those who preserve and disseminate this data: they too are accomplices in crime and constitute an extremely serious risk for both the victim and for his family. »»
Caroline Tronelli’s lawyer, Lorenzo Contrada, adds: “Caroline is devastated. His private life was raped brutally. »»
