This young Marmande cyclist was a standard bearer of France in a major sporting event

From July 20 to 26, three young talents from the New Aquitaine cycling committee proudly represented France in the U17 Women category: Thaïs Barrier-Paiva, Noémie Jurado-Roumieux and Léa Langella.

Léa Langella, from Marmande and daughter of Anthony Langella, was selected in the France team to participate in this prestigious event which took place in Skopje, the capital of the North Macedonia, a country located between Kosovo, Albania and Bulgaria.

But above all she was fortunate to be designated asy holder for the whole of the French delegation which included 140 athletes. A total of 49 countries represented, or 4,000 athletes.

There were thirteen sports on the program: athletics, 3 × 3 basketball, 5 × 5 basketball, canoeing, road cycling, gymnastics, handball, judo, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, mountain biking.

A sixth place obtained on online race

On the test against the clock which took place on July 22, Léa Langella finished 16th and first French.

On the online test; She does much better by obtaining A beautiful 6th place (1st French) When arriving at the sprint which included around thirty runners out of 90 at the start.

This experience was very rewarding for the Marmandaise who participated in her first international race. A good baggage accumulated in anticipation of future new objectives.

At the moment, the Marmande cycling club stands out abroad after Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Canada, and therefore, in North Macedonia.
