A fire broke out on Wednesday evening before 7 p.m. in a garage on Chemin Saint-Laurent in Baie-Saint-Paul on Wednesday.
Several units of the fire safety service intervened a little before 7 p.m. to master the blaze that had declared itself in a garage a little above the Saint-Laurent path in Baie-Saint-Paul. The fire was quickly controlled, but not enough to save the building.
The garage was used as a wood shop. The large quantity of fuel and the finishing of the building would have allowed the fire to spread very quickly, not even leaving time to the teams of the fire safety service to enter it, tells us the director of public security and fire of Baie-Saint-Paul, Alain Gravel.
Several detonations would have been heard by the neighbors before they see the fire. However, the causes of the fire remain unknown. It will therefore be necessary to wait for the results of the investigation before knowing more about what could have triggered the blaze.
The owner of the building would have suffered very slight injuries, but would not have needed transport to the hospital.
