Val de Bagnes: a military bridge restores access

Traffic between the Fregnoley and Lourtier will be restored this Wednesday morning, 6 a.m., thanks to the commissioning of a 51 -meter military bridge, installed by the Swiss army. The temporary work, officially delivered this Tuesday evening to the canton of Valais, will allow alternate traffic until November 30, 2025. This is an urgent response to the torrential lavas of June, which had taken the fuse bridge and blocked the cantonal road.

The assembly of the bridge, carried out by soldiers, ended on June 27. The work continued with the development of access ramps, the installation of grave and 200 tonnes of asphalt. A fuse bridge will soon be installed upstream to serve the current sites, before taking over from the military bridge. In parallel, the canton performs geotechnical surveys on the right bank, in order to rebuild the destroyed bridge between Lourtier and Sarreyer, while cleaning the site of the protective gallery has resumed. The town, for its part, is preparing the development of a rescue road on the left bank of the Drase.
