During the past month, the Valais cantonal police intensified their speed checks, especially on the Grimsel, Furka and Nufenen passes, she said in a statement published on Thursday. During these targeted actions, the police recorded several significant speeding.
Twenty-five motorists and motorcyclists were arrested while they were traveling more than 30 km/h from the authorized limit.
On the other hand, the cantonal police count four new driver crimes:
All these drivers have been denounced in the road traffic and navigation service as well as with the public prosecutor.
Offenders are exposed to sentences up to four years in prison and a license withdrawal of at least two years.
The Valais cantonal police recalls that, although they favor prevention in traffic, drivers will be specifically targeted by repressive measures. Speed controls can be carried out at all times and any day throughout the canton.
