Awareness of road safety around the Tour de France women

On the occasion of the Tour de France Women with Zwift 2025, which will stop in Chambéry on August 1 and 2, a road safety awareness stand will be installed in the immediate vicinity of the arrival and departure of the stages.

Driven by the Road Safety Coordination of the Prefecture of Savoy, this action is part of the national operation “The road is divided”, carried out in partnership with Amaury Sport Organization (ASO) and the delegation for road safety.

The objective: to raise awareness among all road users – cyclists, motorists, pedestrians – to the rules for sharing public space, in a context where cycle attendance progresses strongly. In France, 222 cyclists lost their lives in 2024, a figure identical to that of 2023. In Savoy, 3 cyclists died and 46 were injured that same year

On site, departmental speakers will animate an educational and friendly stand with:

  • Personalized advice on the right behaviors to adopt,

  • A fun quiz on traffic rules, with prizes to be won.

Present in the fan zones and on several touring sites of the Tour, the operation is based on 14 information stands across the country. In Chambéry, the mobilization of local actors will strengthen prevention at the heart of a sporting and popular event, to recall that compliance with the rules remains the best protection.
