Arrival second runner -up of the Miss Châtillon country competition country of the Dombes, Vanessa Douillet, the Woman of the former judoka David Douillet, coveted the title of Miss France. But the crown race ended prematurely this Sunday, June 22 after its defeat in the Miss Pays de l’Ain election.
This competition, organized in Saint-Rambert-en-Bugey, was to be an important step for Vanessa Douillet in order to qualify for Miss Rhône-Alpes, then for Miss France. But the 42 -year -old candidate unfortunately failed to climb to the podium. The jurors preferred Noémie Baiamonte, 21. It was she who was crowned Miss Pays de l’Ain.
“The fight continues”
The day after the election results, David Douillet’s partner confided in Instagram about this defeat. “No scarf last night, but I already wear the three most beautiful titles in the world: that of mom,” she says.
This business chef and mother of three children who made her age one of the forces of her candidacy, after the election last December by Angélique Angarni-Filopon, the first 34-year-old Miss France, believes that her speech “seems to have greatly displeased and disturbed a jury and its organizers, anchored in suffocating and old habits”.
“I am not just one woman, I am a free, committed and determined woman,” she adds.
Despite this defeat, Vanessa Douillet assures, however, that “the fight continues” and that it will continue to fight “so that the voice of women is heard, even after 40 years, even with children”.
