Project the Dailens
Vaudois justice gives the green light to the Vernette discharge
The cantonal court rejected the appeal of opponents to the large cantonal discharge project located straddling Daillens and Oules-sous-Échallens. An appeal to the Federal Court remains possible.

Opponents of the Vernette dischargelocated straddling Daillens and Oules-sous-Échallens (VD), saw their appeals rejected by the Court of Administrative and Public Law (CDAP) of the Cantonal Court. An appeal to the Federal Court (TF) is still possible.
Following this judgment of Vaud’s justice, “the decision to approve the cantonal assignment plan worth building permits as well as the final decision relating to the study of the impact on the environment are therefore confirmed, as well as special authorizations”, wrote the association on Tuesday in front of which wind to its members.
Opponents speak of a “regrettable” decision, but say they are “not surprised”. They believe that their arguments have “a greater weight and a more convincing scope in the federal level”. An appeal can indeed be filed with TF until September 14, they say, noting that their lawyers are “analyzing the answer” of the CDAP in detail.
Like Grandson
Last October, the CDAP had already given the green light to the other major discharge project in the canton, that of Sags to Grandson. This file is now in the hands of the TF.
The state of Vaud had validated the assignment plans of the two projects, discussed for a long time, in September 2022. The opponents had then entered the CDAP.
For the state of Vaud, these two new discharges are necessary to meet the needs of the canton. They must receive different types of waste, including type D materials (slag from incineration plants) and E (polluted land).
