He gets rid of rebellious tenants, but the rest turns into a nightmare

When we say that a misfortune never comes alone … in Tracadie, two recalcitrant tenants who had given a hard time to a duplex owner left the place. But thereafter, offenders came to occupy the premises and ransacked the two homes.

The real estate agent Rino Doucet, who represents the owner of the duplex located on the main street in Tracadie, had explained to the Acadie Nouvelle on June 19 how difficult it had been for him to get rid of two tenants who had received recommended letters so that they leave their homes.

Despite the 30 days notices to leave, the two tenants then stayed there for a while, and they finally folded luggage.

“Then, when I returned, I saw that there were still people there. I said to them: Get out, you are in no way dealing here, ”says Rino Doucet. These people were not the tenants of the premises who had already left the place, but rather “squatters”.

“There is a police report too,” he says.

After verification, the local RCMP confirms having received a request for expulsion from a property on June 19. The police force intervened to help expel an individual from this place on June 21, but did not arrest.

“There were indeed people who were not allowed to be there. So, it is entry into break -in, ”explains the owner’s representative. From there, the steps he had started previously with the mediator of New Brunswick rents were rather secondary.

“There is damage, vandalism, do you want it in all. It’s amazing, ”he says about the two dwellings.

The owner of the duplex had to call on First General, a company specializing in the restoration of disasters, damage or major vandalism, as in this case.

“I told them: you have to block this place once and for all. There were no more doors, they had been smashed. If you had seen the interior, it was awful. I am not disdainful but I can tell you that it was really disgusting, ”says Rino Doucet.

The file is currently in the hands of insurers related to vandalism committed on the property.

According to Rino Doucet, due to a water damage, the municipality of Tracadie had to interrupt the water service in one of the housing.

In short, it is not tomorrow the day before that these two dwellings will be available again for rentals. It is even possible that they are completely destroyed.
