The Vaudois collective “right to stay” led Friday at midday a short peaceful action before the offices in Lausanne of the State Councilor Isabelle Moret, in charge of asylum, noted Keystone-ATS. A dozen people denounced the violence and the frequency of forced referrals of migrants, especially children.
(Keystone-ATS) The members of the collective criticize the way in which the Minister PLR in charge of the Vaudois Establishment of Reception of Migrants (EVAM) and the Population Service (SPOP) manages the reinforced references decided by the Confederation. They denounce a “hardening of the migration policy of the canton” and “the implementation, by ideology or for low financial reasons, a real xenophobic system”, they write in a manifesto published the same day.
“Hits, children handcuffed and arbitrary administrative detentions: the extreme level of violence that the canton causing serious trauma to an already very vulnerable population. Unfortunately, it is only the dramatic culmination of a deliberate administrative mistreatment deployed at all levels, “they say.
“Right to stay” requires a moratorium on the execution of referrals until the processing of his petition by the Grand Vaud Council. He also requests, for example, “the establishment of a secure space allowing exiles to report violence, especially sexist and sexual, as well as the abuses of power committed by officials of the EVAM and the Spop”.
Questioned by Keystone-ATS, the services of Ms. Moret did not wish to react or comment on this action and the collective requests. “We have not received a formal request for exchanges or dialogue to date,” replies the Department of Economy, Innovation, Employment and Heritage (Deiep).
