British Minister of Foreign Affairs David Lammy and US vice-president JD Vance will welcome a meeting of European and American national security advisers on Saturday, Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced.

This meeting will be “a crucial opportunity to discuss the progress to be made to achieve just and sustainable peace” in Ukraine, they added. The British Prime Minister had previously maintained himself on the phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The two leaders welcomed President Trump’s will to end this barbaric war and agreed that we must maintain Putin pressure so that he ends his illegal war,” added the statement.
He specifies that the Labor leader “reiterated his unwavering support to Ukraine and his people”.
This meeting comes after the announcement of a summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska. The meeting will be without Volodymyr Zelensky, who continues to demand to have a voice in the chapter.
