What are the sanctions if I do not respect water restrictions during the drought alert?

Forty municipalities of Alpes-Maritimes passed this Tuesday, July 29, 2025 in drought alertand five others at the next alert stadium, causing the implementation of numerous water restriction measures.
Plant watering, swimming pool filling, washing your vehicle … “checks“ will be carried out on the ground by the “Authorized agents”specifies the prefecture.

What are the municipalities concerned?
The alert stadium is triggered for watersheds:

-of the upstream siagne (Bar-sur-Loup, Cabris, Châteauneuf-de-Grasse, Escragnolles, Grasse, Gourdon, La Roquette-sur-Siagne, Le Tignet, Rouret, Opio, Peymeinade, Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey, Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne, Speracèdes, Valbonne);
-of the downstream siagne (Auribeau-sur-Siagne, Cannes, La Roquette-sur-Siagne, Le Cannet, Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Mouans-Sartoux, Mougins, Pégomas, Théoule-sur-Mer, Vallauris).
The stadium ofReinforced alert concerns five municipalities in the Cagne watershed: Cagnes-sur-Mer, La Gaude, Saint-Jeannet, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Vence.
The other watersheds of the Alpes-Maritimes remain in a state of vigilance, without water restriction.
What are the water restrictions put in place?
For the forty municipalities of the department placed on alert, the following measures apply this Tuesday:
– Prohibition ofwater lawns, flower massifs, green spaces and vegetable gardens between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.;
– Prohibition of water games;
– Prohibition of Fill and drain non -collective swimming poolsthe upgrade remains authorized;
– Closure of fountainswith the exception of those operating in a closed circuit or using a push button;
– Prohibition of Wash your vehicle at home and limitation of programs for car washing stations that do not have a recycling system more than 70%;
