What is Philips Hue Bridge Pro?
Called Bridge Pro, the new Philips bridge will not replace the current model, but will offer a more advanced version to those who want more control over their home automation. This new black case, with dimensions a priori Similar to existing bridge, incorporates the technology called Motionaware. You may have guessed it in the name: this is a function to transform your bulbs into movement detectors, without additional device.
Clearly, the installation of the Hue Bridge Pro in your home will launch an update on your compatible bulbs, which can then activate Sensify technology and thus use ZigBee radio waves to estimate your position in the house. Depending on your settings, you can imagine that the light would light up at your entry into a room and stretch at your output, automatically, and without having to acquire a dedicated motion detector.
In addition to this welcome novelty, the Philips Hue Bridge Pro would see its ten -prone performance, including more RAM, and can be connected to WiFi. Today, an Ethernet cable is necessary to connect the bridge to its domestic network. Finally, the number of accessories supported by the bridge would go from 50 to 150 on the pro model.
What other new features for Philips Hue?
In its (clean) leak, Philips also let us see a new connected video doorbell, offering a 2K flow (double what the current models offer). The Sonos vocal assistant will also be compatible with all Hue accessories, and will therefore allow you to control your home in the voice.
Finally, to stay in the lights, Hue would prepare to launch a new range of more economical bulbs of around 40 %. They would also have chromasync technology, offering more precise color control from the dedicated application. New garlands and outdoor lighting are also on the program, also integrating Chromasync.
It remains of course the unknown of the price. Go to IFA in Berlin from September 5 to 9 to find out more!
