If Kent Hughes and his team of decision -makers do not make any transaction involving one or more of their choices for the auction on Friday and Saturday, they will select no less than 12 players. It would be the largest harvest of the team since the 1994 cuvée, when the CH had drafted no less than 13 players. Recall that the NHL amateur award was made up of 11 rounds at that time!
In addition to holding two choices in the first round, the Habs have seven choices from the first 100 thanks to two second round selections and three third round selections.
And for the first time, the CH will make all its choices at a distance, since the NHL will present a decentralized draft like the NFL and the NBA. It is from Montreal that Kent Hughes and his group of amateur scientists will choose the next hopes of the team.
Like last year at the Las Vegas sphere, the auction will not take place in an amphitheater of the circuit. The draft will rather take place at the Peacock Theater of Los Angeles and only the 50 best hopes of the cuvée will be invited. The other hopes will also have the option of attending it, but will not be formally invited by the League.
Here is the selection rank of all the choices of the CH at the next auction:
