From the morning of this Wednesday, sometimes stormy showers will perform on the northwest quarter of France. Elsewhere, at the start of the day, the sun will dominate and the temperatures will climb.
The most important storm degradation at the end of the day and evening
In the afternoon, Brittany will remain exposed to rains or showers sometimes mixed with thunderclap, but the most important stormy degradation, in a boiling air, will be organized rather at the end of the day and evening this Wednesday ” from the southwest to the Massif Central and to Normandy, then to the Paris region and the Hauts-de-France », Météo France anticipates.

During the afternoon of this Wednesday, June 25, 2025, strong storms, locally violent, will develop in the Southwest and the Massif Central, then will cross a large part of the country, before evacuating by the Northeast Thursday morning, June 26. These thunderstorms can be accompanied locally with hail, and especially violent gusts of wind.
Thunderstorm forecasts Wednesday and Thursday according to the European model ECMWF (Map from Meteologix):
Gusts up to 120 km/h
The activity promises to be temporarily strong, in particular from Midi-Pyrénées to Limousin and Auvergne “with a risk of intense rains, hail and strong gusts”, alerts the weather organization. In Normandy, under the most violent thunderstorms, gusts could locally reach 100 to 120 km/h.
The stormy wave should then be shifted on the northeast quarter and the Rhône-Alpes region on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, June 26, remaining active. Only the Mediterranean periphery will remain away.
Still temperatures close to 40 ° C this Wednesday
On the temperature side, apart from the Atlantic coasts, on the west of Brittany and near the English Channel-where the maximums will remain below 30 ° C-we expect from 31 to 35 ° C and up to 36 to 38 ° C, or even 39 ° C, in Roussillon, in Provence, and Limousin and Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in Center-Val de Loire and Champagne.
If this Thursday, June 26, the maximum temperatures will be in significant decrease in most regions (except on the Mediterranean arc and in lower Rhône valley), the Mercury should quickly go up.
From this Friday, June 27, an anticyclonic sequence will be set up and the air mass will warm up again with, in sight, a new heat wave.
