Wednesday evening was a nightmare for many female nati fans. After the 2–1 defeat against Norway at St. Jakob-Park in Basel, thousands of supporters had to face a monstrous mess to go home. Saturated trains, delays, missing information: several witnesses describe total chaos.

At Pratteln station, a passenger would even have been the victim of a panic crisis in a blocked convoy, according to Blick. Others waited for more than an hour and a half before being able to embark. “What was offered is unworthy of one euro,” denounces a supporter. CFF admit malfunctions. Although special trains have been planned, the massive influx, coupled with unforeseen events on the network and with little fluid management, quickly blew up the plans. Result: crowded quays, failed correspondence and exhausting home feedback.

Also WC worries

In addition, according to Blick, many spectators have also encountered problems with the HPs in the stadium, often dirty or blocked, while the toilets of men worked perfectly. And, to top it off, the drinking and food stands have struggled to meet demand, to the point that some customers abandoned the idea of ordering after half an hour of waiting.

Solicited as an organizer, UEFA rejects the fault on the facilities: “We are aware of the problems that appeared in certain ladies’ toilets during yesterday’s match. The health infrastructure of the stadium reaches its limits when the number of spectators increases ”. Finally, the organization says that corrective measures have already been taken, in order to prevent such hiccups from happening again, other meetings that have yet to argue in Basel.
