Changes in the Oilers will be centered on the attack and the guards

For a second consecutive year, Edmonton’s Oilers lost in the Stanley Cup final against the Florida Panthers.

There is nothing more deceiver than losing as close to the ultimate goal, as we lived with the Montreal Canadiens in 2021, and it is all the more so when it happens two years in a row.

This means that there is no shortage of the oilers to win the cup, but that all the same, there are changes to make to avoid such a other defeat so close to the goal.

And in this perspective, well, Stan Bowman came to the media yesterday in order to paint a portrait of the situation among the Oilers for the dead season.

The Director General of Oilers was clear as to the fact that there would be changes to his team in the coming weeks and next months.

The DG of Edmonton even said where there would be changes in its alignment.

Indeed, Bowman said that he will focus above all to make changes in front of the net (finally !!!!) and in attack.

But for the defense, nothing reported, while the CEO loves his defensive.

Does this surprise you?

Yes, me too.

After seeing the defense of the oilers being pierced by the attack and the absolutely masterful avant avant of the panthers, it is difficult to believe that no change must be in defense.

Obviously, the Oilers do not have a bad defense, but it is perhaps a little too oriented towards the attack with guys like Evan Bouchard, Darnell Nurse, Jake Walman and even John Klingberg.

A defensive that has so many rather offensive defenders, that cannot work, at least not in series.

Logically, there should be choices to make, but hey, Stan Bowman likes his defensive.

At least, the CEO of the Oilers seems to have understood that it takes a breath of freshness in front of the net, because clearly, Stuart Skinner is not the man of the situation.

It is really the missing piece in Edmonton, a quality goalkeeper.

Oilers would probably already have at least one cup if they had solved this problem earlier …

And in attack, well, it is clear that Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl must be better surrounded, but it is easier to say than to do.

It will therefore be very interesting to see the dead season of the Oilers, while the objective still obviously remains the Stanley Cup.

– Aie.

– Read.

– to listen.

– Too bad for him.
