157,501. This is the number of hectares of burned land in Spain since the beginning of 2025 and this figure should inevitably continue to explode in this weekend of August 15. Friday, the national meteorological agency AEMET warned against the risk of fires “very high or extreme in most of the country until Monday, August 18 inclusive” while a “overwhelming” heat is suffocated by the inhabitants.
According to “El Pais”, the situation is particularly worrying in the North, in the regions of Estremadure, Castile-et-León and Galice (and in the cities of Zamora, León and Ourense), where Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, is expected on Sunday morning. Already three dead
