Fraudsters usurp the identity of Funds Direct Canada Inc. and wrongly claim to be regulated by the OCRI

Be experienced investors: Protect yourself against fraudulent schemes

TORONTO, July 4. 2025 / CNW/ – The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (OCRI) warns investors against Fundsdirect Inc., a fraudulent entity which exercises its activities through the website [fundsdirect[.]top]And falsely claims to have been registered with the OCRI, while it usurpes the identity of Funds Direct Canada Inc., a legitimate inscribed company. The fraudsters of this false entity communicate with investors from the info address@fundsdirect[.]TOP in order to carry out a stratagem promising the recovery of cryptocurrencies.

In addition, they evil the names and logos of Canadian securities (ACVM) on their fraudulent website. We advise investors that Fundsdirect Inc. has no connection with Funds Direct Canada Inc., OCRI or ACVM. The affirmations concerning an registration with the OCRI are completely false.

How to protect yourself from fraud

  • Check the authenticity of anyone who contacts you by communicating directly with the company by means of its website and its official contact details.
  • Immediately report to the OCRI the entities which claim to be regulated by the OCRI or the people who say they work for the latter.
  • Avoid communicating personal or financial information without confirming the legitimacy of the request.
