Nine orange vigilance departments on Saturday

“An extension of orange thunderstorm vigilance to neighboring departments is not excluded,” said the meteorological service in its 10 -hour bulletin, which calls for “informed (e)” of changes in the situation. “Thunderstorms will be accompanied by strong precipitation, and hail as well as an important electrical activity” on the departments of Ain, Isère, Allier, Loire, Puy-de-Dôme and Rhône, placed in vigilance at 6 am, said Météo-France in its 8-hour bulletin.

60 mm cumulatives in a short period of time

The meteorological service has raised orange vigilance at 8 am on the English Channel and Calvados, where the bumps of rain of 20 to 40 mm were raised overnight.

On the center-east, accumulations of rain of 30 to 60 mm “in fairly short periods of time (typically in less than 3 hours)” and “very locally” are expected, specifies the service in its bulletin.
