Calvados and the round left the alert this Saturday at 8 am. But nine departments of the center-east are still placed in orange alert for thunderstorms by Météo-France. And this, until this evening, at 6 p.m. The organization added the Haute-Loire, the Ardèche and the Drôme at 10 a.m. in addition to the six departments already concerned.
“An extension of orange thunderstorm vigilance to neighboring departments is not excluded,” said the meteorological service in its 10 -hour bulletin, which calls for “informed (e)” of changes in the situation. “Thunderstorms will be accompanied by strong precipitation, and hail as well as an important electrical activity” on the departments of Ain, Isère, Allier, Loire, Puy-de-Dôme and Rhône, placed in vigilance at 6 am, said Météo-France in its 8-hour bulletin.
60 mm cumulatives in a short period of time
The meteorological service has raised orange vigilance at 8 am on the English Channel and Calvados, where the bumps of rain of 20 to 40 mm were raised overnight.
On the center-east, accumulations of rain of 30 to 60 mm “in fairly short periods of time (typically in less than 3 hours)” and “very locally” are expected, specifies the service in its bulletin.
