A new failure
This engine, made up of 70 % new parts, was thought of by Stellantis to solve the problem of PureTech. If the latter has a submerged distribution belt, this time it is a chain that occupies this place.
Made between 2023 and 2025, this 1.2 engine. Turbo-Essance has been used on the brand’s hybrid vehicles. But for a few months, Stellantis engineers have noticed weaknesses. In the bowels of this propellant block, some nuts had an “insufficient tightening torque”.

But in other cases, obviously rarer, this leak can cause fire. It was to avoid this disaster scenario that Stellantis organized a massive reminder of its vehicles.
What models are affected?
In the announcement of this recall, Stellantis explains to us that These are mainly cars of the Peugeot brand which are affected by this problem. In terms of models, the whole new range, from the 208 to 5008 are affected. The Lion brand brings together 150,000 of the 200,000 reminders to make in France.
We then find another French brand, Citroën. The C3, C4, C4X, C5, Aircross and C5X are affected by this recall. Nearly 50,000 chevron vehicles would be affected.
