A four-year-old girl from Beaumont (Province of Hainaut) drowned last Saturday in the swimming pool of a private campsite in Saint-Honoré-les-Bains, in the French department of Nièvre, written on Thursday Sudinfo. The victim did not survive, despite the rapid reaction of witnesses and help.
According to the first elements, the child has escaped the surveillance of his parents for a short time and jumped in the basin. According to local media, the swimming pool was not organized as a supervised swimming area: no lifeguard was present, only a supervisor in charge of logistics.
The local prosecution has opened an investigation to shed light on the precise circumstances of the drama and in particular on surveillance, the organization of the site and the reception conditions of children.
