A professor of the University of California killed in broad daylight in Greece

A professor of the University of California in Berkeley was shot dead in broad daylight in a residential suburb of Athens, Greece.

Przemyslaw Jeziorski, economist and marketing teacher at the Haas School of Business of the University of California, went, on July 4, to the Greek capital to see his children and attend a family guard audience with his ex-wife, according to CNN.

The 43-year-old man was reached on the neck and chest by several projectiles fired at close range in the residential area of Agia Paraskevi, near the home of his ex-spouse.

According to the Greek authorities, the attacker, armed and masked, has «Approached the victim on foot and opened fire at close range ”around 4:15 pm.

The victim died on the spot. Seven 9 mm caliber sockets were found on the scene.

The shooter fled and remains not found, more than a week after the event.

An investigation for murder is underway.

A police source under the cover of anonymity told the American media that crime would have characteristics of “commanded murder”, and avenues related to organized crime are also explored.

The victim’s family has created a fundraising to repatriate their body and finance legal procedures in Greece. “We are devastated and want justice to be done,” said his brother, łukasz Jeziorski.

The University of California paid tribute to the teacher, who had 13 years of experience and had trained more than 1,500 students.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the tragic and sudden death of Professor Przemyslaw Jeziorski, an appreciated member of our Marketing Faculty and the Haas community,” said Jenny Chatman, dean of the UC Berkeley business school in a statement.
