Alecier vehicle attack in Vancouver | The judge imposes a prohibition of publication on the examination examination to undergo a trial

(Vancouver) A judge imposed a publication of publication about a hearing aimed at determining whether the man accused of having killed 11 people during the Lapu Lapu festival in Vancouver is able to undergo his trial.

Adam Kai-ji Lo, who faces 11 second-degree murder charges and is accused of having driven a sport utility vehicle on a crowded street, appeared on Wednesday in front of the Vancouver Provincial Court dressed in a dark blue chandail.

Adam Kai-Ji Lo, 30, briefly praised someone in the courtroom and replied “no” when the judge asked him if he wanted the procedures to take place in French.

The prohibition of publication covers all the evidence presented during the hearing on the ability to undergo its trial, which must last two days.

RJ Aquino, president of Filipino BC, the organization’s organism of the festival, stressed that legal proceedings could prove to be traumatic for victims and members of the Philippine community.

He said that many people have expressed their anger and frustration since the April 26 attack and still have trouble facing tragedy almost three months later.

Police indicate that six victims of the attack are still hospitalized in a stable state. The British Columbia Ministry of Health said in a statement that Adam Kai-Ji Lo was “followed closely” under the Mental Health Act by a Vancouver Coastal Health Health Care Team at the time of the attack.

The press release said he had “given no sign of violence” and that nothing seemed to justify an office hospitalization before the attack.

A media consortium, including the Canadian press, challenged the prohibition of publication requested by the Crown.

According to the label proposed, the evidence presented at the hearing could not be the subject of publications before the lifting of the prohibition or the end of the trial.

Mr. Aquino says that members of the Philippine community will follow the audience closely.

Many want a “rapid conclusion,” he says, but justice takes time.
