The Formula 1 Grand Prix is this Sunday. Three essential days for the Horeca sector. And in individuals too, some hope to get a good deal. Residents of the region do not hesitate to leave their house to rent it.
Individuals try their luck
Last week, Erika decided to publish an ad on two rental sites. His house is only fifteen kilometers from the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. “It is a friend to my in-laws with whom I was talking about, who is a fan of F1, who advised me to rent the house and who told me that, at that price, she would easily praise herself. But she did not praise herself.”
900 euros per night for a five -bedroom house, it is not so expensive compared to other ads. Still had to convince the children : “What I’m afraid of is that they damage the armchairs or stuff a bit like that, but it would make me happy that the house is rented because we would like to do activities” says one of them.
Strict rules
But this competition does not please everyone. “Each accommodation must be completed to the municipality” explains Laurent Dethier, president of the Hôtelière des Hautes Fagnes association. “There must be an authorization request and therefore a file must be returned to be able to rent a house, a cottage or a guest room … It is compulsory since July 1.”
At Spa, only in four accommodation is in order. However, the rule is the same for everyone, as Alda Greoli, alderman of economic affairs. “I remind you that it must be supervised, that they have responsibilities, that they must have insurance and that it must be declared to the municipality with the payment of tourist taxes.”
Renting your house during the Grand Prix is possible, provided you respect the rules. At the risk of being disqualified.
