An accident involving a single vehicle left four dead, including three children, in Saint-Luc-de-Bellechasse, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
The emergency services were called upon to go to the swolder, around 5.30 p.m. on Saturday, on the Rang Sainte-Sabine. For an unknown reason, the vehicle has finished its race against a tree. There is no survivor.
“Upon arrival, the occupants were incarcerated and the deincarcing pliers were necessary to have access to the victims,” said Sergente Ève Brochu-Joubert, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
“They were all taken to a hospital center in critical condition, where unfortunately their death was noted,” she said.
The victims are a 29-year-old man and three children under the age of 10, from the boiler-appalanches region. Their identity was not revealed immediately.
Traces of slippages were visible on the “narrow and not paved path”, where the swerved took place.
An SQ survey is underway to understand the causes of this tragedy.
