The month of July was not as sunny as the average, oscillating between ambient greyness and rainy weather. However, he had started with a significant heat wave.
According to meteosuissethe temperature of July 2025 was 0.4 degree lower than the average 1991-2020, and slightly more watered on the French-speaking reliefs.
“In a climate that warms up, this month of July seems to be relatively fresh. But for an old as me, it’s a rather normal summer – if we have not forgotten how our summers were when we were younger,” tempers Lionel Fontannaz, meteorologist for meteosuisse.
Summer hot than the standard
The dry and warm weather has been resettling since the beginning of August, when tropical days are announced. Despite the weather last month, summer will exceed historical standards.
“The variability which is linked to our temperate regions has been expressed this summer, and we can only rejoice. It has brought precipitation. But we can obviously not remove global warming which still impacts these means at the end of the season,” recalls Lionel Fontannaz.
The temperature trend in Switzerland is therefore clear, already warmed by 2.9 ° C compared to pre -industrial averages. The meteorologist adds that this summer will probably be hotter than the norm, even “in the top ten hottest summers”.
