Photography fans thought of making a very good deal on Digitec Galaxus on the night of Monday, August 5 to Tuesday, explains the SRF. The Migros subsidiary offers a promotional offer every day, and that of this beginning of the week was particularly attractive: a canon eos camera as well as its objective at 35 francs, while these usually cost more than 1300.
The promotion, particularly attractive, immediately had very great success. The 1299 copies offered for sale found takers in just a few minutes. The happy buyers even received a confirmation email from the company, also details Watson.
The company cancels promotion
But it was too good to be true. The firm explained to the SRF that instead of selling 35 cameras at 1299 francs each, it sold 1299 to 35 francs. She said she was going to cancel orders and quickly inform customers who had benefited from the offer.
Does the platform have the right to remove this offer when it was she who was wrong? The answer is yes. The prices communicated by the company in fact represent only “invitation to submit an offer”. Consequently, by placing an order, the customer offers an offer to the seller who can, or not, accept it. And even when the latter is accepted, the seller can withdraw in the event of a “manifest error”, which is the case here.
Despite this hiccup, Digitec Galaxus told SRF its intention to renew this action, “with the right price”. The date of this is not known for the time being.
