The Civil Defense of Gaza reported the death of twenty people in the accident of a food truck which turned on the crowd in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.

“The truck overturned while hundreds of civilians were waiting for food aid in the area of Nousseirat, in the center of the Gaza Strip,” said Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal. According to him, “the truck had been forced by the Israeli army to take dangerous roads, which had previously been bombed” and were in poor condition.
“Despite the recent limited authorization of a few aid trucks, the occupier (Editor’s note: Israel) deliberately hinders the safe passage and the distribution of this aid. It obliges drivers to take overloaded routes of hungry civilians who have been waiting for the essential products for weeks, “the government of Gaza accused in a statement under the authority of Hamas.
This “deliberate and criminal behavior often ends with desperate crowds that rush on the trucks and seize their content by force,” said the government, also reporting 20 civilians killed and dozens wounded.
Questioned by AFP, the Israeli army indicated to check this information.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, described as “horrible” the video of the Israeli hostage Evyatar David, the skin on the bones, broadcast a few days ago by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas and who shocked in Israel and abroad.
Asked by the press in Washington to find out if he had seen the said video, Donald Trump replied: “I saw her, yes, I find it horrible and I hope that many people will see it (…) because I think it’s a horrible thing”.
The Lebanese government has instructed the army on Tuesday to prepare a plan to disarm Hezbollah by the end of the year, an unprecedented measure since the end of the civil war.
This decision, still unthinkable before the war with Israel having strongly weakened the Pro-Iranian movement last fall, was taken during a meeting of the Council of Ministers, at a time when the influence of Hezbollah on the Lebanese political scene, which he dominated, has clearly decreased.
It is part of the application of the ceasefire concluded under American mediation, which ended on November 27 at more than a year of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel. The agreement provides that only six military and security organizations are authorized to bear arms.
Israel will have to “completely defeat” Hamas in Gaza to ensure the release of the hostages, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who held a security meeting on the next phase of the war on Tuesday, announced as imminent.
“It is necessary to completely overcome the enemy in Gaza, to release all our hostages and to ensure that Gaza will no longer constitute a threat to Israel. We do not give up any of these missions, “said Benjamin Netanyahu during a visit to a military base.
In the afternoon, he held according to his services a “restricted security meeting of almost three hours” during which “the chief of staff of the army presented the options for the continuation of operations in Gaza”.
A senior UN official warned on Tuesday against “the catastrophic consequences” that an extension of Israeli military operations in Gaza could have at a time when the Israeli press reports a project to occupy the whole Palestinian territory.
“International law is clear in this regard, Gaza is and must remain an integral part of a future Palestinian State,” said Miroslav Jenca, UN under-secretary general for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas, during an emergency meeting of the Security Council dedicated to this conflict.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi denounced on Tuesday a “war of famine and genocide” in progress in Gaza, while refuting accusations according to which Egypt would prevent the entry of humanitarian aid via the Rafah border post.

“The current war in Gaza is no longer a war to achieve political objectives or release hostages only,” said Mr. Sissi at a press conference with his Vietnamese counterpart Luong Cuong.
“This war has long exceeded any logic or justification and has become a war of famine and genocide, as well as a means of extermination of the Palestinian cause,” he added.
The Civil Defense of the Gaza Strip announced on Tuesday the death of 68 people killed by Israeli fire during various incidents in the Palestinian territory, including 56 which awaited distributions of food aid.
According to the Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal, thirty people died under the shots near a help center near the city of Khan Younes. Questioned by AFP, the Israeli army said that it had “seed” in the direction of a “Gazaouis rally advancing in their direction” in the Morag corridor, but said that he was not aware of a victim.
South African Minister for Foreign Affairs Ronald Lamola called on Tuesday the “more countries possible” to put pressure on Israel to “put an end to the genocidal acts” committed, according to him, in Gaza by Israel, in an interview exclusive to AFP.
“We welcome the intention of France, Canada and other countries in the world to recognize” the State of Palestine. “This increases the pressure for obtaining a ceasefire,” added Mr. Lamola interviewed in Pretoria.
The UN Special Rapporteur on the minorities, the Friborg Nicolas Levrat, and more than 30 of his independent expert colleagues require the dismantling of the controversial humanitarian foundation of Gaza (GHF). On Tuesday in Geneva, they spoke of an “urgent need for robust international surveillance”.
In a joint declaration, independent experts, who do not express themselves on behalf of the UN, denounce in GHF, supported by Israel and the United States, a “completely disturbing” exploitation of aid for military and political reasons. They target normalization of impunity and violations of international law.

“In this case, we leave a state accused of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity being responsible for feeding the population affected by the genocide,” they add. More than 1,300 people were killed and more than 4,000 injured by coming to seek food since resuming the control of humanitarian aid by the Hebrew state.
Among them, nearly 860 were nearly the few sites piloted by the GHF for a little more than two months. The Foundation claims that its distributions work and claims nearly 1.8 million meals distributed for the only day on Monday, regularly calling on the UN to collaborate with it.
