Discoveries at the Turnover Club Hosanna

For four young people, who were only fishing in their small river in Stoneham in the suburbs of Quebec, the discovery of the club’s club Hosanna, was an adventure that they will remember for a long time.

It all started during a discussion with my partner Cameraman Karl Tremblay. He told me to know young people from his corner who wanted to discover fishing fishing. This is how I ended up with Charles Robitaille, Florient Montier, Will Tardif and Mathias Tanguay, at the outfit of Max Béland.

“When you offered to introduce young people to fishing in the outfit, in order to explain the basics of fishing and more, I found the idea very interesting,” explains Max. For me, initiating the youngest and opening up the universe in which we live is very important and essential to ensure the next generation. »»

He had therefore prepared a whole program for these young people to leave from the start. As when a customer arrives at the outfit, to the highest point to taste the sockets.

During the reception, he took the time to explain the territory of his outfitting to them, which covers more than 110 square kilometers, in two sectors, Hosanna and Natisk.

Subsequently, they were treated to a special visit to the museum created by the builder of the current outfitting, Michel Béland. They were able to understand relations with First Nations, the manufacture of a bark canoe, the principles of fishing for fishing lakes, how trappers are wildlife managers and finally, everything that revolves around the history of the world of Joseph-Armand Bombardier, the inventor of the Author and the Ski-Doo motoneige.

Rapid courses

Before launching a line in water, they were entitled to quick courses on metallic lures, how to make knots, the world of flies for fishing, without forgetting the launch methods.

Really, in one day, they learned more than many fishing enthusiasts.

Once ready, they went up in the boats of Max to discover lagging behind, a technique completely unknown for them. After a few missed sockets, they ended up making interesting captures. You had to see all the satisfaction that illuminated their faces. They quickly understood that they had been entitled to an expert teacher.

After learning how to clean their trout, they lived the ultimate step, the tasting of their catch shore lunch. They participated in the preparation. It was a memorable meal.

Really, the initiation prepared by Max was exceptional. He really trained new experienced fishermen, convinced to return to the site in the future.

Excellent quality

This outfitting was founded in 1936 by Hosanna Cournoyer. Michel Béland bought it in 1989. He brought it to the level of today, before his son Max took over.

It is located in the municipality of Trois-Rives and accessible by the 155 road. The two sectors of the outfit are accessible by this road, which runs along the Saint-Maurice. There are populations of speckled trout, rainbow trout and gray trout. The fishing quality is excellent and several specimens are worthy of mention.

In the Hosanna sector, there are activities throughout the year. The outfitting offers chalets that can accommodate two to sixteen people, in a European plan.

Information

During our visit, Max wanted to explain the respectful work in the development of the forest on the outfit, carried out by the people of the Domtar.

The collaboration between the outfitting and the forestry company has been excellent for many years. Our young fishermen were able to visit arrangements proving that the provider and the foresters can work together.
