A petition against the DUPLomb law, tabled on the National Assembly platform last week, collected more than 215,000 signatures, this Friday, July 18 afternoon. If it exceeds 500,000 signatories, it could be the subject of a debate in public session.
Will there be a new debate on the LOI DUPLOMB In the hemicycle of the National Assembly? While the text was definitively adopted by the Parliament at the end of a hit route, marked by a rejection to a reversed front of the text in the National Assembly at first reading, a petition requiring its repeal was deposited on the dedicated platform of the National Assembly, on July 10. Eight days after its deposit, the petition reached the 215,000 signatories.
It has already crossed a first symbolic level after three days of existence, that of the 100,000 signatories, which allowed its online on the site of the National Assembly, for more visibility. If it exceeds 500Â 000 signaturesfrom at least 30 overseas departments or communities, the Conference of Presidents may also decide to organize a debate in the hemicycle of the Palais-Bourbon.
The petition was deposited by Eleonore Patterya 23 -year -old student in Master Quality, Safety, Environment / Social Responsibility of Business. “”DUPLomb law is a scientific, ethical, environmental and health aberration. It represents a frontal attack on public health, biodiversity, coherence of climate policies, food security, and common sense“, Writes the young woman in the text of the petition.
The bill “aimed at” lifting the constraints to the exercise of the farmer’s profession “, known as” Duplumb law “, contains a particularly controversial measure: reintroduction on a derogatory and under conditions of theacetamipridean insecticide from the neonicotinoid family, this measure, which has become totemic, was largely denounced by the left groups during the examination of the text in the National Assembly. The latter have also seized the Constitutional Council. The text has therefore not yet been promulgated, pending the decision of the wise men on rue de Montpensier.
It is not the first time that a petition deposited on the platform of the National Assembly has been of such success. In April 2023, a text requesting the repeal of the brigades for the repression of the motorized violent action (BRAV-M) had exceeded 260,000 signatures. Classified by the Law Commission, however, it had not been able to exceed this level, or be the subject of a debate in public session.
