More than 10,000 people – 20,000 according to the organizers – paraded loudly to the federal square via the city center of Bern on Saturday afternoon in solidarity with Gaza. They asked the Federal Council to engage in favor of an immediate ceasefire.
(Keystone-ATS) The authorized demonstration took place peacefully, even if a small group sowed the disturbance several times, noted a journalist from Keystone-ATS. The demonstrators, estimated at 10,000 according to the latter, came from all regions of the country. French -speaking Switzerland was particularly well represented.
Thirty organizations, including the Swiss union union (USS), Amnesty International, the PS, the Green and Campax, had called to demonstrate. Their main claim was to demand from the Federal Council that it is committed to an immediate, sustainable and monitored ceasefire in Gaza.

“The inaction is unacceptable and must stop immediately,” said the organizers in their call to demonstrate.
