Telephone can remain a disturbing reality in the daily life of many French people. These repetitive calls can even become a real scourge by bothering the tranquility of the inhabitants. Faced with this reality, a new law has just been adopted and it should soon improve the situation. Far from waiting, a Frenchman decided to take this problem head on by creating his own application.
How does it work?
France 3 Bourgogne Returned to this initiative by Xavier Béliss, a resident of Chalon-sur-Saône in Saône-et-Loire. The latter created the Vigiphone application, launched on June 29 on the Google Play Store.
Questioned by the public media, he explained that he was tired of receiving up to 5 or 10 unwanted calls each day. And if he systematically blocks them, he noted the limits of this measure, because the malicious actors have a wide range of numbers, which makes this method unsuitable.
He therefore came to the idea of creating this service which is based on a simple principle. When a number calls you, the application will check if it is part of your contacts. If this is not the case, the algorithm then travels a database of 11 million numbers awarded to the directs. If he corresponds, your phone will not ring and the caller is switched directly to the answering machine.
Quoted by our colleagues, Xavier Bélisse adds: “Sometimes not very honest companies use numbers that are not one of those officially dedicated to canvassing. If we realize that an spotlight has managed to reach us despite the application, we can report it and he joins our blocking base ”.
Effective, Vigiphone claims an unwanted call elimination rate of 80 to 90 %. The application costs 2 euros in the form of a single transaction and you can have all the features for this price without having to pay a subscription. The creator hopes that the application will soon be available on iOS.
Another anti-demarcher application

Available on the Google Play Store, this service makes it possible to effectively block unwanted calls thanks to prefix filtering. It thus removes the ringtone even before the call reaches the user.
