Wishing to simplify its name and accommodate a mechanical range, EOVOLT formalizes its transformation and becomes UTO during the Eurobike 2025. The French brand also has a new electric folding bike, the Pro20.
It is very rare in the world of electric bikes, but one of the major French brands completely changes its name. Founded in 2016, EEOVOLT takes a radical turn, which it first presents at the Eurobike 2025 cycle show (Germany).
From eovolt to uto
“The name seemed complicated for some, especially abroad”, explains the tricolor brand to us. “And Eovolt is logically associated with electric bikes, while we launch muscle models“. Eovolt therefore becomes UTO, acronym of« “Unidentified Transport Objects »Or« Unidentified transport objects In French.
It is also an opportunity to give a new stroke to the range. « L’Eovolt Afternoon Pro has been designed for the new UTO era, which becomes the pro20“Explains a brand official. A more readable nomenclature, which indicates ICIC the size of the wheels, knowing that the pro16 (ex-upur Morning Pro) will arrive very soon.
A new 16 -inch electric folding bike
With a little delay – we discovered it in the form of a prototype from 2023 – to obtain a lighter weight than its 20 -inch partner, the UTO PRO16 is soon ready with a style and a folding mechanism very close to the pro20. The 16 -inch wheels put Schwalbe Big Apple tires, with Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes to accompany them.
The Bafang rear engine is developing maximum torque of 40 Nm, and incorporates a 2 -speed automatic transmission, all associated with a belt transmission. The folding electric bike incorporates a capacity battery 250 Wh, in the saddle tube format that the Lyonnaise firm cherishes.

With a maximum autonomy of 50 km, this model weighs 18.5 kg, thanks to a carbon fork. The new design and the latter component explain a large price difference with the previous Morning, 2,799 euros (vs 1,799 euros).
The old generation continues, muscles disembark
In parallel, the previous generation “Origins” contracts its name for also encrypted models: OG16 (ex-Morning), OG20 (ex-afternoon), and OG24 (ex-Venting). These VAEs will be responsible for maintaining an access price to the UTO range. A new version of the OG20 will also arrive by 2026 for more comfort, but we will know more in the coming months.
