Ottawa will celebrate Canada’s Day in the presence of Prince Edward and Mark Carney

Ottawa – The Canada Festival ceremony in Ottawa will have a royal turn on Tuesday, while Prince Edward will give a speech during an event at noon at the Plaines Lebreton Park.

Prime Minister Mark Carney is also having to speak on this occasion, during his first Canada celebration since he took office in March.

This year, Canada’s Day coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Canadian Flag and the 45th anniversary of the official adoption of Ô Canada as a national anthem.

The noon ceremony in Ottawa will also mark the 45th anniversary of the Marathon de l’Espoir by Terry Fox.

General Governor Mary Simon also plans to give Canada’s order to six people during the event, including actor Ryan Reynolds and musician Heather Rankin.

Tuesday evening’s show in Ottawa will feature artists like Sarah McLachlan, heart of Pirate, Mitsou, Roch Voisine, Brenda Montana, Dear Rogue and Alex Wells.

The Ottawa event will take place again to the west of the hill of the Parliament, in the Plains Lebreton sector, while the renovations of the center building continue and they should last another seven years.

Other Canada Day ceremonies take place across the country, including the Canada Together event in Vancouver and a celebration at Victoria Park in Charlottetown.
