Moscow does not want to give up “its objectives”
The Russian President had just told him that Russia “will not give up its objectives” in Ukraine, while saying that they are open to the pursuit of negotiations with kyiv. It was the sixth discussion between the two leaders since Donald Trump’s return to the White House in January.
This exchange intervened the day after Washington’s announcement of a break in the delivery of certain weapons to Ukraine, more than three and a half years after the start of the Russian offensive. The United States is the main provider of military aid to Ukraine and this decision may put kyiv in a difficult position at a time when Russian troops continue to move on the front.
