Residential construction: agreement principle ratified:
The agreement in principle occurred between the union alliance of construction. In addition, the association of Quebec Construction and Housing Professionals (APCHQ) to renew the collective agreement in residential construction has been ratified by both parties.

The new collective agreement. which will come into force on July 27, provides for a salary increase of 8 % at residential construction: agreement principle ratified the signing for the year 2025.

The new collective agreement also provides for the relaxation of clauses relating to labor movements. the improvement of travel costs and chamber and pension costs as well as a bonus of 5 cents of the compensation for safety equipment in the light residential.
The two parties also agreed to set up a committee to discuss the attractiveness. retention of staff in the residential sector.

The residential sector was the only one in the four construction sectors to have still failed to renew. its collective agreement. The other three – civil/road engineering. the industrial and the institutional/commercial – had residential construction: agreement principle ratified succeeded in renewing it, before the deadline of April 30.
The union alliance brings together the five trade union organizations present in construction. namely, in order of decreasing importance: the FTQ-Construction, the Quebec Quebec Consulting Syndicate, the Provincial Council of Quebec Construction Trades (International), the CSD-Construction and the CSN-Construction.
The Alliance therefore represents the 200,000 construction workers, 63,000 of which work in the residential sector.
