The American Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) plans to publish a travel notice concerning China, while infections in Chikungunya, a disease transmitted by mosquitoes, increases in the country, reports Bloomberg News this Wednesday.
“The CDC is informed of the chikungunya epidemic reported in the province of Guangdong, China, and currently assesses the extent and the extent of the situation,” a CDC spokesman for Bloomberg News told.
The American CDC did not immediately respond to Reuters’ comment request.
According to the newspaper Global Times, the province of Guangdong, in southern China, identified a total of 4,824 cases of Chikungunya on July 26.
The chikungunya, transmitted mainly by mosquitoes of the genus Aedes and not having any specific treatment, can cause fast and extensive outbreaks. Mosquitoes spicy day, prevention is essentially based on the use of repellents and wearing long -sleeved clothing.
Earlier this month, the World Health Organization (WHO) launched an urgent appeal for action in order to avoid a rehearsal of the Chikungunya epidemic from 2004-2005, while new households, linked to the Indian Ocean region, extend to Europe and other continents.
The current wave began in early 2025, with important epidemics in the same islands of the Indian Ocean as during the previous crisis, notably Reunion, Mayotte and Mauritius.
