OPENAI, Google (alphabet subsidiary), Anthropic as well as the artificial intelligence company XAI of Elon Musk have won contracts intended to accelerate the adoption of advanced AI capabilities within the Department of Defense of the United States, the office of the digital and artificial intelligence office (Digital and Artificial and Artificial Intelligence) announced on Monday.
Each of these contracts provides a ceiling of $ 200 million and will allow the US ministry to develop agentic workflows in order to meet crucial challenges in terms of national security, the office said.
“The establishment of these partnerships will expand the use by the Department of Defense of the Consulting AI AI and strengthen the understanding of these companies as for critical needs in matters of national security,” it says.
The Pentagon had announced last month the allocation to OPENAI of a $ 200 million contract, specifying that the creator of Chatgpt would be responsible for “developing advanced AI prototypes to meet major national security issues, both operational and organizing”.
In April, the White House management and budget office (Office of Management and Budget) published new directives, inviting federal agencies to ensure that the government and “the public benefit from an American competitive AI market”.
