The Ubisoft CEO referred to in a new legal proceedings

The lawyer of the five civil parties wishes to “force the CEO to explain himself before the courts”.

Ubisoft has not finished with justice. Since 2020, the French publisher has faced charges of moral and sexual harassment. Business that led to convictions up to three years in prison suspended for three former executives of the company on July 2.

It is now the CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, which is targeted by legal proceedings, reveals Le Parisien. A lawyer of the five civil parties in this case, ME MAUDE Beckers, has indeed filed three direct quotes against the one who defended himself for having closed his eyes throughout this case, but also against the Ubisoft legal person and the human resources manager of the time.

“Explain to justice”

With this new legal proceedings, the lawyer wishes to “force the CEO to explain himself before the courts”. And she is not the only one. As part of the trial, civil parties and defense deplored the lack of prosecution against Yves Guillemot, the legal person Ubisoft and the human resources manager of the time.

While they hoped to see the boss of Ubisoft, the publisher denied any quote to appear received by the latter at the end of May. The company had assured having “fully cooperated with the authorities” and that this trial did not concern it.

But the opposing party judges that this is not enough to DEDOUNANT Yves Guillemot. For Me Maude Beckers, he made himself an accomplice of the actions of the former executives who were sentenced this Wednesday. “By leaving them in positions of power, he participated in the commission of crimes,” she said.

The incrimination of Ubisoft stems from the reproached inaction of his boss. “The fact that the employer does not comply with his security obligations exposes the legal person to a conviction,” said the new procedure.

Finally, human resources are accused of having “covered the overflows” of the three former executives, one of whom had notably embraced an assistant. This new trial should start in 2026.
