92,000 people are expected at Brussels airport. It is the biggest day of influx of summer with 48,000 passengers expected at the start and 44,000 on arrival. A number never seen since the Cavid-19 pandemic in 2020.
This morning, in the early hours, the hall of departures began to fill up well, as noted by our journalist on the spot: “There are people, there are a few files but for the moment we can really circulate without too much difficulty, it is quite well managed”.
This strong crowd of 92,000 travelers is explained by several reasons. First, the building leave, then also the end of the Tomorrowland festival with hundreds of thousands of festival -goers who come from foreigners and who will therefore return home.
Day of “chased crossed”
And then, there is also the famous chalé-crossed between people who come back from vacation and then those who leave today to enjoy the sun.
The airport has therefore taken certain measures, including an information office which has been open for 6 hours and until 9 p.m. to answer all travelers’ questions or even on luggage, on their flights.
It is still advisable to come several hours in advance, to prepare well to take your flight in time.
In total, throughout the summer, the airport will accommodate more than five million travelers.
Many passengers are also expected this Monday at Charleroi airport, where long queues were noted this weekend in terms of safety checks.
