Zug: three candidates for the vacant headquarters to the Council of State

Three candidates seek in the second round of the complementary election to the Zugois Council of State The seat left vacant by Martin Pfister elected to the Federal Council. The election should be played between the candidate of the Andreas Hausheer Center and that of the Vert-Es Andreas Lustenberger.

Andy Villiger (without party) also appeared in the second round, the Zugoise Chancellery announced on Monday after the enrollment closing at 5 p.m. Carina Brüngger-Ebinger (PLR) and Tabea Estermann (PVL) withdrew, just like Stefan Thöni from the Parat-“ready” movement, arrived in the first round.

Andreas Hausheer had obtained first place in the first round with 10,202 votes and Andreas Lustenberger the second with 8562 votes. The centrist was a cantonal deputy for 17 years and is currently president of the commune of Steinhausen. The second seat in the Cantonal Parliament for twelve years and presided over the cantonal party. Andy Villiger raised 1775 votes.

During the first ballot on June 15, no one reached the absolute majority necessary to be elected. The second round, which will see the election of the candidate who obtained the most votes, is held on August 10.
